Colton Friday is a Country musician from Clay, Alabama who is aiming to keep the traditional country sound alive! He just loves writing songs and playing them for other people. Colton taught himself to play when he was 13 and started playing gigs at 15! He has played all over Alabama, Georgia and Nashville.
Who are your band members and what do they play?
I am just acoustic right now but hoping to get a band together in 2020.
Who are you inspired by?
Keith Whitley, George Strait, Brooks and Dunn, Alan Jackson, and Jon Pardi.
What's the biggest problem you have had to overcome
Being nervous before a gig. Although it is a great feeling to have.
If you could change anything about the industry what would it be?
I would make it about not who you know but about your talent. Everybody should be given a chance.
Are there hidden meanings behind your music?
Every song is a special one to me. Some are absolutely true and some are just a made-up scenario in my head!
What is one venue you dream of playing?
The Ryman
Are you working on any new music?
Yes! I have been writing a lot lately and look forward to getting back in the studio.
