Grace Tyler: The New Face of Texas Country Now

Texas Country Now has a new face and her name is Grace Tyler. The young female country singer-songwriter is quickly making a name for herself in the country music scene with her refreshing voice that sings songs of falling in and out of love.

It is safe to say that Tyler’s days as an Underdog are coming to an end. The future for this young artist is looking rather promising and her music is as ready as she is.

For this Frisco, Texas native, a knack for singing came early. At just 6-years-old, Tyler sang Patsy Cline’s “Crazy” at a kid’s karaoke. It wasn’t long after till Tyler brought her talent on stage. As a 14-year-old she made her debut in the country music scene playing different venues across the great state of Texas. In 2018, Tyler would even be seen on American Idol.

It’s no surprise that by 16 Tyler had the attention of Nashville music industry executives. At the age of 17, after graduating high school, Tyler would make the move to Nashville, Tennessee to pursue her dream of being a musician while attending Belmont University. Jungling being a college student and an aspiring artist, Tyler spent her days as a full-time college student while her nights were spent performing in Nashville venues like Tin Roof, The Twelve Thirty Club, Whiskey Jam, 3rd and Lindsley, and the Listening Room Cafe.

When it comes to Tyler’s music, she takes influence from artists like Patsy Cline, George Strait, Pat Green, Randy Rogers, and Sunny Sweeney. Through her music, you experience a variety of elements from her influences as well as a showcase of the two different styles of country music, the simply referred to as “country music” and “Texas country music.”

“When people ask me if I’m a Texas country artist, I like to say that I'm a country artist from Texas. I have fiddles in my music, but it’s not just that. Texas is still where my roots are, but now I feel more like a Maren Morris or a Miranda Lambert. Or like a twist between the two.” Said Tyler.

Tyler made her debut in the country scene in April of 2021 with her original single “My Mistake.” This was the first sight of the honesty and vulnerability Tyler would give to listeners through her songwriting.

After her first taste of success from her debut single “My Mistake” – which gathered 100,000 streams in its first month– Tyler kept it going. Later in 2021, she would follow up her debut with her single “Whatever It Is.”

Ending her first year with original music released with a little over 171,000 streams on Spotify alone, and 52,070 fans listening, 2022 looked very promising for Tyler.

She’d kick the year off with her single “Dust” which was followed by the single “Texas & You.” Soon an exciting moment would happen in Tyler’s career when the well-established country music star Lee Brice would put his stamp of approval on Grace Tyler and produce her most recent 2022 singles “Bad Boy” and “Cowboy & Tequila.”

In just the short time we have gotten to hear Tyler’s original music, we have seen writers like Justin Lee, Benji Tyler, Dylan Gunthro, Jenn Schott, Kylie Frey, Stone Aielli, Johnny Cochran, Jack Hummel, Matt Gorman, and producers such as Brad Hill, and Lee Brice supporting and helping Tyler make a big splash in the country scene.

The hard work is surely paying off for Tyler as it’s landing her on some big stages opening for class country acts like Maddie & Tae and even Lee Brice himself. And that's just the start of it, all of this has earned her the spot as the new face of Spotify’s Texas Country Now playlist.
