REVIEW: GIOVANNIE & THE HIRED GUNS SELF TITLED ALBUM

Originally posted to @RedRoosterReviews on Instagram

A new album came out that has turned the music scene into a whirlwind. Giovanni and the Hired guns release their self-titled album and let me start by saying IT IS HEAVY! Not necessarily meaning the music sits heavy on your heart, (even though there are some songs that hit close to home on some poor relationships) but it is a heavy rock album.

By no means has Giovanni been categorized as smooth or soft, but this album went a much different route in creating a niche in the market. I would even go as far as saying this album leans into an early 2000’s alt-rock vibe that crashes their way into the Texas music scene. “Stay” and “Rooster Tattoo” are a couple that we have been hearing for a while and are featured on this album. Although these songs rock, they pushed further into headbanging with their other songs. This album has a lot of production to it which expresses how much work truly went into the making of and it’s definitely something to recognize as nothing short of great talent. Gios voice has such a range, that it fits perfectly with the style they chose. And the band could give any rock band a run for their money. Great work guys and hope to see it live soon!
